For Patients
More than 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the US each year; this is only a fraction of the number of breast cancer patients. Due to the limited number of ovarian patients there is limited access to resources for new treatments. Yet each year, more than 14,000 women die from ovarian cancer. Clearity believes that this reality is unacceptable.
With cancer, each tumor may look similar under a microscope, yet every tumor is composed of different molecular profiles (“blueprints”). Understanding the blueprint is the key to finding the right treatments for each individual’s cancer. The Clearity Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, founded by an ovarian cancer survivor and scientist, Dr. Laura Shawver.
How will Clearity help me?
You can sign up with Clearity to have your unique blueprint determined. This may help us find the correct clinical trial or treatment for you. Furthermore, permitting us to keep your information in our database will help establish improved treatment options in the future for all women afflicted with ovarian cancer.
We have been blueprinting tumors for almost three years. We have established criteria for the interpretation of the test results to ensure that they are the most relevant.
